Fans of Chance The Rapper have been waiting all week for his appearance on Saturday Night Live for the show’s mid-season finale, and he delivered with a performance of “Finish Line” + “Same Drugs”.

After appearing in a skit inspired by Run-DMC’s “Christmas In Hollis,” Chance donned the stage wearing red overalls and his signature black “3” cap for his first performance of the night. He performed “Finish Line,” a highlight from his Grammy-nominated project, Coloring Book. He energetically manned the stage before bringing out fellow collaborator and fellow Chicagoan Noname to perform her guest verse on the song.

Saturday was his third time appearing on Saturday Night Live. He performed in December 2005 when actor Chris Hemsworth was the guest, and earlier this year as a guest performer with Kanye West to rock his verse of “Ultralight Beam”.

For his second performance on the episode, he performed another fan favorite, “Same Drugs,” with a guest appearance by Francis And The Lights. Chance began the performance singing as he played piano, joined by a quartet of backup singers. He later got up from the piano to let Francis & The Lights take over on the keys as Chance stood up and rejoined with his vocals.

Early on Saturday, Chance tweeted about how excited he was to appear on Saturday Night Live for the second time, and encouraged his fans to guess which songs he would perform.
