Chicago is making the news again for all the wrong reasons. Rhymefest, a native of the “Windy City,” was up early to share his experience of being robbed this morning. Real name Che Smith, the emcee said he was disappointed in what happened because he’s actively trying to make things better. “I lived here on the Southside because I thought it mattered,” he said. “Now, I’m reconsidering.”

To the young brother that put the gun to my head this morning & took my wallet. You don't know how you just damaged your community.

Until our communities have restorative Justice set up, you better make friends with a police officer.

You don't know what you did! And who you did it to. I lived here on the southside because I thought it mattered. I'm reconsidering

Give me faith that it's our desperation & not our hearts thatre dark. The man who robbed me I want to reach out to me If I know him tell him

Here’s to hoping Rhymefest is able to get over what happened and the young man realizes he made a terrible mistake to an ally of the community.
