Al Reynolds understands what it’s like to be thrown into the deep end. After his marriage ended and his sexuality was confronted in the public eye, Al had to restart his life and find a new path. But instead of seeing it as a burden, he took the challenge head-on and used it as a new lease on life. He’s now using his public platform to help others and shine a light on social issues he cares deeply about.

It’s a leap of faith that Yan Iskandar has felt ever since coming to America. After relocating to the Napa region from Singapore in 2016, Yan worked his way up at Michelin restaurants, hoping to one day carve a path for himself. After nine years in the region, he’s finally taken the plunge to start his own restaurant, Pasar, which delves into his cultural Javanese roots growing up in Singapore, and brings a whole new flare to Napa Valley.

Together, they discuss with Carlton the fears and excitement about turning toward their most recent chapters of life, something Carlton himself has done many times through his storied career.
