Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter, Quiñ has built quite the reputation in the industry as a go-to-artist and performer. Fueled by an active imagination and an ambient sound, Quiñ’s “Fantasy Soul music” has gained an impressive following on Soundcloud and an equally cool rolodex of featured guest appearances. Her most recent single, “Over Again,” endeared her to an audience who appreciates solid sonics and linked her with G-Eazy, a major label star from Oakland, California.

In our humble opinion, Quiñ is definitely an artist to watch on the rise. She’s put in the work behind-the-scenes, and now can utilize her excellent experiences to show out for the masses. Galactica, her debut EP which hits the world on October 28, is already being hailed by publications such as FADER and streaming services like TIDAL as “captivating” and “mighty” respectively. With that in mind, we’re equally approving of Quiñ’s effortless style, cooler-than-your-average songwriting and space age singing, and hope that you take notice of her shimmering sound bed.

Witness as this week’s First Look Friday subject steps from out of the shadows to show off her otherworldly creativity, break down the obstacles she’s overcome and premiere a new track, “I AM,” for your ear’s listening pleasure. Press play, get a feel for this “Galacticat” and enjoy this ride through her powerful portal into the realm of her fantasy soul music.

Q: Thank you! Life has been smooth. Developing as an artist has been just me evolving into what I like to call “the Baby Lady”. It is all me and it is all a part of my process. I’ve taken my time with my work and now it’s time to share. The anticipation is just something that comes along with it. All in all, I’m grateful.
