The Tidal X concert returns on Saturday, with a feminine, star-studded lineup that includes Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Ms. Lauryn Hill and many others.
The streaming service’s inaugural Tidal X concert included performances of Jay Z, Beyonce, Lil Wayne, Prince, Usher, and T.I. This year’s concert will feature one of the most star-heavy lineups of women you’ll see all year, with Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Ms. Lauryn Hill, and Alicia Keys.Performers also include Common, Dave East, Blood Orange, Sir The Baptist, and more. The concert, which is at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York City, is hosted by Angie Martinez.
Tidal X: 10/15 is also doubling as a benefit show for the Robin Hood Foundation. The organization “has focused on finding, funding and creating programs and schools that generate meaningful results for families in New York’s poorest neighborhoods.”
“A strong education is one of the best poverty-fighting tools there is,” Robin Hood’s executive director David Saltzman said in a statement. “We’re thrilled that the proceeds from this once-in-a-lifetime benefit concert will support great teachers and strengthen schools. It will undoubtedly be an incredible night for everyone, especially our honored guests: the heroic teachers helping our most vulnerable children escape poverty.”
The concert is the latest in a series of shows presented by Tidal, the streaming company owned by Jay Z and other industry stars.
