Following reports of Jada Pinkett-Smith's return as Niobe, it's been announced that actor Jonathan Groff will be joining the star-studded cast of The Matrix 4. Much like the rest of the film, however, not a lot of information is known about his role or the impact of the character.
Groff is best known for playing FBI Agent Holden Ford in the Netflix series Mindhunter and Jesse St. James in Glee, along with voicing Kristoff in Disney's Frozen and Frozen 2 plus Kingdom Hearts 3. Aside from film and television, Groff was part of the original cast of Broadway's Spring Awakening as Melchior Gabor and portrayed King George III in Lin-Manuel Miranda's Hamilton.
The Matrix 4 will be helmed by original director Lana Wachowski (without her sister Lilly) and sees Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss reprising their roles as Neo and Trinity, alongside newcomers Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jessica Henwick and Neil Patrick Harris.
